I have been trying to come here for years and finally got here before 2pm! Worth the wait. The food was fresh and flavorful. Healthy serving size too. All around great spot, now maybe one day I can make it here for breakfast lol
We ordered the braised boneless Kalbi beef and the chipotle Cajun butter shrimp plates. The plates come with two scoops or rice and a scoop of Mac. The shrimp was a flavorful Cajun and was really great. The kalbi beef was cooked to PERFECTION melt in your mouth amazing. I had seen a instagram post about them and followed them then and knew I wanted to visit when we came to the island. So happy we did.
I got the kalbi beef and eggs for breakfast and my daughter tried spam for the first time. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time on the island. The beef was fall-apart tender and delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the rice soaked up all the yummy goodness and was a great filler. We couldn’t finish all of the huge portions. This was a brilliant recommendation from our hotel. A must do part of any island experience.
We always have to stop by Da Bald Guys food truck when we visit Oahu! The Furikake Crusted Salmon is absolutely amazing and a must try. The taste and portions are always consistent as well. Thank you Da Bald Guy staff for the amazing food! P.S. Go early if possible because things sell out!!
If you don’t like this place, then you don’t have a happy bone in your body at all. This is by far one of the best food trucks I’ve ever had on the island, on the mainland, it was incredible. Spicy shrimp, chipotle, shrimp, spicy poke. I mean my goodness. The macaroni salad is Divine, the rice, the flavors, it is insanely delicious. The one thing I really didn’t like was the fact that I only had one stomach. They’ve gained a new lifetime customer out of me. As long as this food truck is around, it’ll be one of my go to spots when I visit.
We loved the flavors, quality service, and ambiance! Their garlic shrimp is tasty & everything has excellent juices to spread on the rice. So good!
Best shrimp on Oahu! Best shrimp I’ve ever had too! Both the Garlic Butter and the Chipotle Cajun Shrimp are amazing! But make sure you get there early enough on busy days. Sometimes the shrimp sells out before lunch time even. The shrimp are pre-peeled and I think that makes a big difference so that the shrimp are as flavorful as possible. Neither option goes light on the garlic/seasonings either, meaning each bite is as good as the last. The chipotle shrimp is the perfect amount of spicy with a steady, slow burn that lasts throughout the meal. Whichever plate you choose, you’ll finish feeling full and satisfied. The mac salad is also really good, but comes in small portions. I would recommend getting extra mac salad.
I would definitely recommend this place!!! I ordered the Kalbi and fried poke. I also got the chopped steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. I am not a cold salad person but my friend who is, enjoyed the Mac and cheese salad. The line went quick so there wasn’t too much waiting. Will be going there again for sure.
